News shorts: Public debate on 24 Sussex: From Residence to Reticence

On Wednesday, February 21, you can hear an evening of free-wheeling discussion about the future of the Prime Minister’s residence at 24 Sussex Drive.

Moderator Andrew Cohen will challenge four experts on their views and ideas: former cabinet minister Sheila Copps; Marc Denhez, the president of Historic Ottawa Development; Mark Thompson Brandt of TRACE architectures; and Patricia Kell, the executive director of the National Trust for Canada.

The debate will be held in Woodside Hall, Carleton Dominion-Chalmers Centre, 355 Cooper Street at O’Connor, starting at 6:30 p.m. It is sponsored by Heritage Ottawa, the School of Canadian Studies at Carleton University, and Historic Ottawa Development.

You can attend in-person or virtually. Pre-registration is required at heritageottawa.org/events/24-sussex-drive-residence-reticence
