Ever wonder why The Centretown BUZZ is 12 pages one month, eight pages another, and 16 pages the next?
It’s because The BUZZ doesn’t just rely on our wonderful volunteers for writing articles, proofreading, and distributing the paper. Producing and printing The BUZZ also costs money, most of which comes from the advertisements you see throughout the paper.
However, over the last couple of years, readers have noticed the little “Donate” button on our website and have been gracious enough to donate money to help fund our operations.
The amount of donations we’ve received has grown each year, and we’d like to leverage that. For those times when we’re on the fence about how big to make the paper, donations could give us the confidence to print more pages, and thus have more space to deliver news, photo, and opinion pieces about Centretown to our readers.
How do I donate?
Donations can be made by credit card, debit card, or PayPal.
Simply click on the Donate button on The BUZZ front page. (If you’re on a regular screen, it’s at the top left; if you’re on a tablet or phone, it’s partway down, after the list of stories.) That will take you to a page where you can enter whatever amount you’d like to donate.
You can choose to make this a monthly recurring donation, or you can leave it as a one-time donation. Then just select your payment method and proceed to enter your payment details.
Saying Thanks
Starting in 2023, we’ll recognize in the print edition individuals who donate $10 or more by that month’s publication deadline. If you donate, please drop us a line at editor@centretownbuzz.ca to let us know how you’d like your name to appear in the list. We won’t print your name without your permission.
