The Capital Pride parade returns after two virtual years

Stephen Thirlwall

Parades are always joyous.

As well as a call for recognition, respect and rights for 2LGBTQIA+ people, the 2022 Capital Pride parade on August 28 was a gathering of social agencies related to this theme and groups connected with large corporations, small businesses, government agencies, etc.

Families and groups of friends joined in the fun as either part of the parade or spectators. As well as gender rights, the parade was an appeal for human rights in general for all, harmony within our society, and acceptance of diversity in our community.

This was the first in-person Pride parade since the pandemic hit.
