The Centennial Stars girls’ sports teams have accomplished a first in the history of the school. They won gold in soccer, volleyball and basketball. Three banners now hang proudly on the gymnasium walls of Centennial Public School.

Under the great direction and leadership of Coach Lisa Donaldson, the girls were able to defeat their worthy opponents from other schools in the central area and come out with medals in all three sports.

The first win came in October with the girls winning gold in soccer. The second victory came in February with the girls winning gold in volleyball. The latest win came in May with the girls finishing off the team sports year by winning gold in basketball.

Centennial is fortunate to have some outstanding and talented athletes. Their success can be attributed to the fact that the girls played as a team, included everyone, played fair, gave it their best and most importantly had fun.

Many of the girls are currently in grade six at Centennial so it is a great way to finish their final year at Centennial. This will serve many of them well as they will attend Glashan Public School in September where more sports success will surely follow these girls.

Congratulations girls! Go Centennial Stars go!
