The Centretown Community Association report: Fall Festival, supportive housing session, history walking tours, Elgin Street market, music in Dundonald Park
This summer, people can spend some time learning about the history of Centretown, its residents and the worthies for whom streets are named in walking tours. They will originate at the Elgin Street Farmers Market Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
On June 15, the Federation of Citizens’ Associations of Ottawa (FCA), the umbrella group of local community associations, gave the CCA Anti-racism group its 2022 Achievement Award, saying it was “an example of a grass-roots effort to confront an important problem in our community.”
The Centretown Community Association talks about farmers market, idling vehicles, the closing of the Driveway to cars, a new skyscraper. and the CCA anti-racism committee receiving an award.
The Centretown Community Association will host a festival celebrating gardens as part of Year of the Garden, on Saturday, June 11 from 1 to 4 p.m. in Dundonald Park.
On April 23, there was a large gathering in Dundonald Park to celebrate the wonders of the natural world and to rethink our role in it in order to enhance rather than destroy nature.
Volunteers plan to expand a bee and butterfly garden that was started last summer at Bank and Frank Streets. The garden is a project of the Centretown Community Association.
